Prices do NOT include shipping/handling charges, which are based
upon quantity and location.

Mullard - 1960's NOS 12au7/ECC82 - shield logo. These are very rare, but still available as perfect NOS... for now! They have the desired classic Mullard sound. They match very well and are low enough in microphony for the most critical requirements. I sell these based upon testing and not by factory matching/perfect date codes. These are so well-built and maintained, the most important requirement is microphony matching for dual and quads.
Price:
$49 for single. $115 for matched pair while they last.

Mullard - 1960's NOS M8136 - classic shield logo. These are extremely rare! These are more rare even than those above. These maintain the wonderful classic Mullard mid-range, but are also more extended in the upper frequencies. These are considered by many to tbe the best of the best. I've seen these go for as much as $199 for a single tube. If you are interested in these at all, I would not wait on these!
Price:
$65 for single. $145 for matched pair while they last.

Mullard - 1980's NOS CV4003 - KQDD branding. Still made in Great Britain. Standard Military production. Very rare, but a little easier to find and match than the two above. These are perhaps the best way to get the Mullard mid-range sound if you are less concerned about collecting a tube that will vanish immediately. Many people pass this off as being an earlier date, and many sell these for 5 times as much as this. This year is every bit the quality build and sound as earlier versions of the same production.
Price:
$47 for single. $105 for matched pair while they last.

Radiotechnique - 1956 NOS 12au7 - short plate (I believe 14mm) with square Getter. Made in France - French Mullard Philips production. Yet again, this is true to the Mullard style and sound. Because of the year, these are extremely rare and will not last long! They were French military stock released a short while back by the French government, purchased by several current tube manufacturers and resellers. These will NOT last long, and stock is very short.
Price:
$95 for single. $185 for matched pair. Matching is only available
as long as there is enough stock to do so!

Radiotechnique - 1958 NOS 12au7 - 17mm long plate with Halo Getter. Made in France - French Mullard Philips production. This is an amazing tube and is the best way to get a near equivalent to the most sought after, most expensive Mullard long plates without paying hundreds per tube. These are extremely rare. This is probably the best deal in current NOS that exists, considering that a long plate early '50's Mullard from G.B. would easily cost $199. They were French military stock released a short while back by the French government, purchased by several current tube manufacturers and resellers. There are lesser Radiotechnique's for sale for 3 times the price! These will NOT last long, and stock is very short.
Price: $55 for single. $100 for two. These are too rare to provide matching. I am discounting them in pairs, but they will be gone very quickly.

Radiotechnique - 1965 NOS 12au7 - Made in France - French Mullard Philips production. Different from the two earlier designs, this production is an extension of Philips Holland instead of Great Britain. There are similarities in this design both to Mullard and Amperex Bugle Boys short plates. Even though the 1956 and 1958 are both rarer vintage, these tubes are hardly ever available. These will NOT last long, and stock is very short.
Price:
$49 for single. $105 for matched pair. Matching is only available
as long as there is enough stock to do so!

Prices are based upon the following
criteria:
The rarity of the tube
The quality of the tube according to actual test results: When
possible, I select tubes based not just on longevity and matching,
but also on microphonics. This aspect is unusual to find from
many sellers, but I will make this benefit known when it is offered.
Matching where applicable

There are plenty of low quality, low testing tubes on the market. There are also a lot of fakes! To make things worse, there are many authentic tubes that are misrepresented as being more valuable than they truly are.
Why vacuum tubes? There is a saying that "they don't make 'em like they used to", and it couldn't be more appropriate than it is for vacuum tubes. The early factories are closed, and much of their special formulas for a special product closed with them. Regulation of some of the new manufacturers has improved substantially over the past few years, and some new tubes are of a very high quality. But, now more than ever you really have to know what you are looking for to get the right thing.
As I have the time, I am going to add a great deal of information about tubes on this site. It is always my philosophy that sharing information and knowledge with others helps us all out in the end and weakens the industry for those who wish to cheat and create counterfit product.
Write me if you are trying to hunt down any particular tubes. Keep in mind that New Old Stock tubes and Used rare tubes get sold extremely fast.
